HICKORY, N.C. - Head coach
Brent Owen and the Lenoir-Rhyne men's basketball team come in at #2 in the first Southeast Regional Rankings.
The Bears are 22-6 (16-4 SAC) and have won six consecutive games. They are looking to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in program history. Should the Bears make the tournament this would be just the second time in program history they have made it in back-to-back years (2002-03 and 2003-04). Last year's squad made history by winning the NCAA Regional for the first time ever and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana.
One more set of rankings will come out next Wednesday with the NCAA Selection Show set to take place on Sunday, March 8, at 11:00 p.m. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
