KINGSPORT, TN - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swim teams both finished fourth at this year's SAC Championships. Highlighting the week was the men's 200 yard freestyle relay team featuring
Cohen Singletary,
Christopher Forsey,
Christopher Glebus, and
Renato Herran, who broke the school's record by .12 seconds with a time of 1:23.10.
On Friday,
Levi McRea swam strong in the 500 yard freestyle, placing seventh with a time of 4:36.29 in the A final.
Brooks Higginbotham won the B final in the 500 yard freestyle while
Christopher Glebus won the B final in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 49.67. For the women, senior
Devin Poteat posted the highest finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 10th place mark while
Addison Bartemeyer won the B final in the 200 yard butterfly. The women's 200 yard freestyle relay team consisting of
Devin Poteat,
Stella Pelger, Nichols Cassandra, and Ann-Catherine Beissel finished fifth with a time of 1:41.08.
On Saturday,
Levi McRea took seventh in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 16:06.18, four seconds faster than his time at the SAC Championships last year.
Ella Penny and
Ben Swetckie both won the B final in the 200 yard backstroke while
Devin Poteat placed second in the 200 yard breaststroke B final, placing 10th overall.
Both the men's and women's relay teams placed in the top five in the 400 yard freestyle relay, with the women coming through fifth at 3:35.91 and the men finishing third at 3:05.14.
