Spartanburg, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Softball Team (17-2) went five-for-five this past weekend at the Mid-South Classic at the 295 Complex and pushed its current winning streak to seven contests.
Lenoir-Rhyne 8, Belmont Abbey 0 (Saturday)
Sophomore Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) improved to 6-1 on the season after throwing a two-hit, three-strikeout shutout over the Crusaders.
The Bears scored single runs in the first, third and fourth innings before ending the game with a five-run sixth frame to run-rule the Crusaders.
Senior designated hitter Ashley Duckworth (Conover, N.C.) closed out the contest with a two-run double in the sixth while junior shortstop Kat Rivers (Royston, Ga.) added two hits, two runs batted in and a solo home run.

Lenoir-Rhyne 12, Limestone 3 (Saturday)
Freshman outfielder Megan Laxton (Taylorsville, N.C.) hit two home runs and drove in five runs and the Bears scored six runs in each of the second and fifth innings en route to the victory.
Laxton hit a three-run home run in the second inning while Rivers added a three-run round-tripper in the fifth as the Bears won in five innings.
Rivers finished with three runs and four runs batted in and freshman Alex Smith (Cocoa, Fla.) improved to 6-1 win the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne 4, East Stroudsburg 3 (Saturday)
Trailing 3-2, Rivers and sophomore catcher Sarah Atkins (Newport News, Va.) each hit back-to-back home runs to lift L-R to the win.
Rivers added a solo home run in the second inning and Smith (7-1) once again was credited with the victory after giving up just one earned run.

Lenoir-Rhyne 7, Georgia College 5 (Sunday)
L-R jumped out to a 7-2 lead after four innings of play and were able to hold on for hte win.
Duckworth and sophomore first baseman Brittany Davidson (Fort Defiance, Va.) each hit solo home runs in the second inning while sophomore second baseman Carlee Carpenter (Newton, N.C.) finished with three runs batted in to lead the Bears.
Smith (8-1) picked up the victory while sophomore Lauren Harris (Yadkinville, N.C.) was credited with the save.

Millwood (7-1) picked up her fifth shutout of the year in addition to striking out nine while the Bears broke the game open with a five-run third inning.
Duckworth highlighted the frame with a two-run home run.
