Misenheimer, N.C. - The No. 13 Lenoir-Rhyne University Softball Team (6-2) made it four in a row with a doubleheader sweep of Pfeiffer University (0-6), 6-5 and 11-2, Thursday afternoon at Jack Ingram Field.
Game One - Lenoir-Rhyne 6, Pfeiffer 5
Freshman shortstop Jody Mizelle (Colerain, N.C.) went four-for-four with a home run and three runs batted in as the Bears held on to defeat the Falcons in the first contest.
Mizelle opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the third inning before Pfeiffer tied the contest with a run-scoring single by Allison Braswell (Albemarle, N.C.) in its half of the fourth.
Mizelle's RBI single in the fifth inning gave the Bears the lead for good and L-R added four more runs in the sixth inning for a 6-1 advantage.
Pfeiffer scored twice in each of the sixth and seventh innings to cut the margin to one but L-R sophomore Megan Laxton (Taylorsville, N.C.) was able to register the final out with two runners on for her second save of the season.
Junior Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) improved to 3-0 with the win while Braswell fell to 0-3 after being tagged with the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior outfielder Tameron Sealey (Mount Holly, N.C.) finished with a pair of hits and an RBI while sophomore pinch hitter Kristin Lackey (Hickory, N.C.) added a run-scoring double for the Bears.

Mizelle connected on another round-tripper while freshman third baseman Haily Jarman (Wadesboro, N.C.) added a three-run home run and drove in five runs to lead the Bears to the sweep as they run-ruled the Falcons in the second contest.
Jarman's home run in the top of third inning broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Bears the lead for good.
The Bears continued to pour it on offensively with a three-run fourth inning and a four-run fifth frame en route to the win.
Sealey scored three times while Mizelle finished with two hits and two runs batted in for Lenoir-Rhyne, who?totaled 10 hits in the second?contest.
Junior Lauren Harris (Yadkinville, N.C.) improved to 2-1 on the year after registering the win while Pfeiffer's Melanie Conklin (Wellington, Ohio) fell to 0-2 with loss.? At the plate, Conklin did hit a solo home run for the Falcons.
