Spartanburg, S.C. - The 15th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University Softball Team (15-5) won both its games Saturday at the Mid-South Classic, defeating Charleston (9-1) and Lander (5-1) at the 295 Sports Complex.? L-R's two contests on Sunday were canceled due to heavy rain.

Freshman third baseman Haily Jarman (Wadesboro, N.C.) hit a two-run home run and drove in a game-high five runs to lead the Bears to the win.
Jarman's two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning increased L-R's advantage to 6-0 before Charleston (2-8) finally got on the board with a run in its half of the sixth.
The Bears run-ruled the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the sixth with three runs capped off by Jarman's two-run double.
Junior second baseman Carlee Carpenter (Newton, N.C.) added three hits and three runs scored while junior Lauren Harris (Yadkinville, N.C.) improved to 6-1 on the year after picking up the win.? Charleston's Stefanie Rossman (Concord, Ohio) was tagged with the defeat.

The Bears put the game away with Jarman and Fellmeth's back-to-back round-trippers in the?fourth that pushed L-R's lead to 4-0.
Fellmeth added two hits and Bear junior Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) (7-2) picked up the win on the mound after limiting the Lady Bearcats (11-10) to just one run while striking out five.? Lander's Hayley Leissner (Jefferson, Ga.) took the defeat.
