Lenoir-Rhyne junior Jessica Fellmeth tied a school record with three home runs in the second game of a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader split with Anderson Saturday afternoon in Anderson, S.C.

Anderson, S.C. - The No. 25 Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (20-7, 2-2) split a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader with Anderson (20-4, 1-1) Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field.? Anderson prevailed in the first contest, 4-3, but Lenoir-Rhyne won in five innings in the nightcap, 9-0.

The Trojans jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings of play and held on for the win over the Bears.

Anderson's Danielle Swygert (Sharpsburg, Ga.) hit a two-run double in the opening frame before a pair of L-R errors led to two more runs for the Trojans in the second.

L-R senior catcher Sarah Atkins (Newport News, Va.) cut the lead in half with a two-run home run in the fourth inning and junior outfielder Jessica Fellmeth (Waxhaw, N.C.) added an RBI single in the sixth for the Bears but Anderson was able to hold on for the win.

The Trojans' Larissa Ostapiak (Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA) improved to 10-1 with the win while senior Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) suffered the loss.

Game Two - Lenoir-Rhyne 9, Anderson 0 (five innings)
Fellmeth tied a school record with three home runs and finished with five runs batted in as the Bears run-ruled the Trojans in five innings to manage the doubleheader split.

Fellmeth hit a two-run home run in both the first and third innings before adding a solo shot in the fifth frame.

Atkins added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI while Millwood (10-4) pitched a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts en route to the win.

Anderson's Amber Duncan (Matthews, N.C.) was tagged with the loss and fell to 9-2 on the season as the Trojans saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.

Lenoir-Rhyne hosts UNC Pembroke on Sunday at Bears Field in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.? Anderson, meanwhile, takes on Brevard in a league doubleheader on Tuesday on the road at 2:00 p.m.
