Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore third baseman Haily Jarman drove in the game's lone run with an RBI triple in a 1-0 victory over Anderson Saturday to advance the league tournament finals.

Greeneville, Tenn. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (45-11) advanced to the finals of the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament with a 1-0 win over Anderson (38-12) Saturday afternoon at Red Edmonds Field.? The Bears are top seed while the Trojans are seeded third.

The two squads will now meet for the tournament championship Sunday at 1:00 p.m.?

Anderson defeated Carson-Newman by a 2-0 score later on Saturday to advance to the finals in an elimination game.?

The Trojans would have to beat the Bears twice on Sunday to capture the crown.

Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked No. 21 in NCAA Division II, has advanced to the league tournament championship game for the third straight year.

Senior Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) registered her 16th save of the season including second in the tournament to lead the Bears to the win.

Millwood improved to 31-6 on the year after limiting the Trojans to just two hits while striking out a pair of batters as L-R ran its winning streak to eight games.

The Bears scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning when sophomore shortstop Jody Mizelle (Colerain, N.C.) crossed home plate on an RBI triple by sophomore third baseman Haily Jarman (Wadesboro, N.C.).

Lenoir-Rhyne recorded the final out of the game with a pick-off at first base right after a strike out.

Anderson's Amber Duncan (Matthews, N.C.) (23-9) suffered the loss despite allowing just one run while striking out four batters in the contest.
