Durham, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Teams competed this past weekend at the Duke Invitational at Morris Williams Stadium.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior All-American Kevin Baxter (Columbia, S.C.) finished runner-up in the men's 110-meter hurdles in 14.12 seconds, tying a season-best time.
Baxter has already provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships for the fourth straight year.
This year's finals take place from Tuesday, May 26, through Thursday, May 28, in Bradenton, Fla.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore All-American Haylea Salamon (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CANADA) placed seventh in the women's discus (146'0”) while freshman Demarius Hampton (Carthage, N.C.) finished ninth in the men's triple jump (46'6”) for the Bears.
Another top 10 finish for the Bears came from freshman C.J. Williams (Oakland, Tenn.), who placed tenth in the men's 200-meter dash (21.70).
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams next compete in the Drake Relays on Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, in Des Moines, Iowa.
