Greensboro, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Teams had several individuals with impressive performances Sunday at North Carolina A&T State University's Aggie Last Chance Meet at the Irwin Belk Track.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior Kevin Baxter (Columbia, S.C.), a two-time NCAA Division II All-American (2014-15), won the men's 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.10 seconds. The time is currently tied for seventh-best in the nation this year. Baxter also won the event for the fourth time this year and qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the fourth consecutive season.
In addition, freshman Paiton Fair (Newton, N.C.) set a new school record in the women's 800-meter dash with a time of 2:18.56 for the Bears.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Haylea Salamon (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CANADA) also competed as she finished second in the women's discus throw (139'0”).
The 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will take place in Bradenton, Fla., at the IMG Academy from Thursday, May 26, through Saturday, May 28.
