Raleigh, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams had several impressive performances this past weekend at North Carolina State's Wolfpack Last Chance Meet at Paul Derr Track.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior All-American Kevin Baxter (Columbia, S.C.) finished second in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.38 seconds. Baxter has provisionally qualified to the NCAA Division II Championships in the event for the fourth straight year. The year's national championships take place from Thursday, May 26, through Saturday, May 28, in Bradenton, Fla.
In addition, freshman Dandrell Utley (Wilmington, N.C.) was runner-up in the men's triple jump (46'11”) for the Bears.
On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore All-American Haylea Salamon (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CANADA) was fourth in the discus (137'8”).
