Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Track and Field team was picked to finish Third in the South Atlantic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll announced Friday morning.
The Bears received 121 points and are placed just behind Wingate and Queens.
The Bears had a strong showing last SAC Indoor Championships finishing 3rd. The Bears were led by
Lucas Besong who won the 400m race finishing 1st.
Daniel Nicholson and
Chris Reichenbach also went back-to-back in pole vault finishing 1st and 2nd.
P.J. Lotharp also returns after a 2nd place finish last year in the 60m dash.Â
LR only loses 4 athletes from last year's team and brings in a class of 19 newcomers.
The Bears return to action on Friday January 29 at the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by Roanoke College.
