Women's Golf Surges to 2nd at Battle of Hilton Head

Hilton Head, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf team opened the 2021 campaign at the Battle of Hilton Head and jumped up to 2nd from 4th place in the second day. Individually, senior Megan Robb led LR and finished 2nd, one stroke behind the leader Jenna Nagy.

There are 14 teams competing in this tournament including SAC opponents Carson-Newman, Tusculum, Catawba, Queens, and Lincoln Memorial. Carson-Neman took the tournament crown beating Lenoir-Rhyne by one stroke at 629 (+53).

After round two, Robb who led the field with 15 pars in her first tournament since being named a First Team All-Conference performer a season ago and also had a pair of top 10 finishes as a junior. Sophomore Katie Sibley also joins Robb in the top 10 finishing T-7th with a 78-77 (+11). Mackenzie Foyle and Patricia Asensio lead the team with two birdies apiece.

The Bears finished T-7th in last years Battle for Hilton Head.

The Bears will be back in action Monday March 15 for the Ralph Hargett Invitational.
