Allendale, MI -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Track and Field Team competed at the NCAA Championships this weekend and sophomore Jacob Wadsworth along with the 4x100 relay team collected All-American honors. 

Wadsworth, who also earned All-American status during indoor season, became an All-American in the long jump on Friday. Wadsworth took home a seventh place finish in the event. After jumps of 6.64, 6.93 and 7.32, Wadswoth's fourth jump was good for 7.38m which help him gain All-American status with his top-8 performance. 

The 4x100 team of Wadsworth, P.J. Lotharp, Marlin Davis and Lucas Besong finished in third place in their heat on Friday with a time of 40.51 to qualify for Saturday's final. On Championship Saturday, the quartet shaved .04 off their time to finish in fifth place with a time of 40.57. The fifth place finish also ties the second-highest finish in LR history, trailing only Kevin Baxter's fourth place finish in the 110m hurdles in 2014. 

Davis broke the school l record while qualifying for the 100m finals. Davis finished third in his heat with a 10.42 time, just .06 second away from second place. In Saturday's final, Davis ran the event in 10.63 to finish ninth and earned Second Team All-American honors.

Davis also advanced to the finals in the 200m and took home a ninth place finish in that event with a time of 21.48 to earn Second Team All-American honors.

In total, seven All-American accolades were earned by the Bears with Wadsworth garnering a pair.
