WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After the last two events were canceled, the Lenoir-Rhyne men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on Sunday. The were no team scores or relays at this meet, so all competitors were competing as individuals.
For the LR women,
Kennedy Conner highlighted the day, tying the school record in the high jump with a jump of 1.63 meters (5 feet, 4.25 inches). That was Conner's personal record, and she finished 3rd in the event.
Melody Jones finished 6th in the 60 meter hurdles, Jordan Shealy finished 4th in the 200 meter dash,
Kara Gavaghan finished 6th in the 400 meter dash, and
Pearl Ballard finished 4th in the pole vault.
For the men,
Marlin Davis finished 3rd in the 200 meter dash (22.08) and 4th in the 60 meter dash (6.87).
John Sisson finished 4th in the 400 meter dash (50.62), and
Jacob Wadsworth finished 3rd in the long jump (7.04 m - 23.09 feet).
Mike Karicher finished 4th in the pole vault, and
Ellis Horton finished 5th in the weighted throw (15.35 meters).
The Bears will compete again this upcoming Friday and Saturday at the South Carolina Invitational in Columbia, S.C.
