Men's Cross Country

Parkinson Wins Queen City Invite as Both Teams Finish Second

Charlotte, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams both finished second on Friday night in the Queen City Invite. For the men, Jacob Parkinson took home first place as the sophomore finish first out of 139 runners. Parkinson finished with a time of 25:26 to take the individual title. 

All five of the Bears runners finished in the top 25 on Friday evening. After Parkinson crossed the finish line first, his teammate Lewis Budgen was just 14 seconds behind to finish in third place. Noah Julian finished in 11th with a time of 26:51. Jon Lakeman (22th) and Harrison Hickman (25th) rounded out the scoring for the Bears. 

The men finished in second, 11 points behind Reinhardt and 38 points ahead of third place Belmont Abbey. The women finished with 67 team points where Milligan took home the team title. The Bears finished 20 spots ahead of SAC foe Anderson (SC), who finished in third with 87 points. 

Janet Kwambai finished in third place for the Bears with a time of 17:51 while Kathrin Polke had a top 20 finished on the evening. Eliska Rihova, Elizabeth Kessler and Claudia-Teran Romagose all finished in the top 30 to help the Bears finish second.

Both team will return to Charlotte in two weeks to run in the Royal Challenge
