GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team had a consistent couple of days at the Lady Bearcat Invitational, shooting a combined score of 942 (+78) to finish in a tie for 11th place.
After leading all LR golfers through the opening day, Beatriz Espelosin had a strong finish to the tournament with her 75 (+3) mark. The senior ended up individually tied for 24th with her 227 (+11) tournament score.
Staying below a score of 80 in each round, Marta Escudero closed the book on her regular season with a 76 (+4) performance in the final round. The freshman secured a Top 30 finish individually with 229 (+13) event total, good enough for a share of 28th place.
Anderson (S.C.) was able to hold onto their first day lead as they went on to win the event with its 873 (+9) overall score. The Trojans ended up with a 16-stroke victory over the runners-up Lee; the hosts, Lander, finished in 4th place with a 901 (+37) tally.
Up next for the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team is the SAC Championship. The three-day event will be hosted by Anderson (S.C.) at the Cobbs Glen Country Club with tournament play beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 2.
