ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne's Talon LaClair was selected as the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Softball Player of the Week, while teammate Morgan Beeler was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week twelve of the 2023 season, the Conference office announced today. 
 
LaClair, a graduate student from Statesville, N.C., hit for the cycle and a program record 10 RBI in game one versus Lincoln Memorial on Monday. She had hits in all four games of the week, including three multi-hit games and two four-hit games. She added eight runs scored and 11 RBI while recording a .733 batting average and a 1.333 slugging percentage on the week to help the Bears go 3-1 and secure the No. 2 seed for this week's SAC Tournament. 
 
Beeler, a senior from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., recorded her 20^th victory of the season in the circle on Sunday. She allowed just one hit and one run in the complete game victory against Lincoln Memorial on Monday and picked up her SAC-leading fifth save in game two. Beeler recorded 17 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched on the week. She now leads the SAC in wins (20), strikeouts (180), and saves (5) and finished second with a 2.01 ERA.
