SPARTANBURG, SC - Senior
Jacob Parkinson not only set a new 10k PR on Saturday, running a time of 30:09.3, but he also has qualified for his second straight NCAA Championship appearance. As a team, the Bears finished 16th out of 28 teams. Reigning national champions Wingate took home the team title, as their top six runners finished 1-6 overall in the race.
Parkinson finished 11th overall on Saturday, and was the second finisher who did not advance with a team. He will join Southern Wesleyan's Ronan O'Neill as the two individuals advancing from the region.
The second and third LR finishers crossed at nearly the same time, as
Harrison Hickman and
Leon Fischer finished with times of 33:57.4 and 33:57.7. Freshman
Heri Kommorrowski came through in 35:06.1, while senior
Isaac Riggs rounded out the scoring with a 35:22.9.Â

Parksinson will now travel to Sacramento, California on Saturday, November 23rd to take part in the national championships. The meet will take place at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.
