Jacob Parkinson finished his career with an impressive showing at the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships.
Parkinson, who was making his second straight appearance at the national championships, finished the 10k course with a time of 30:59.7. This time put him in 65th place out of 259 finishers and was 22 seconds better than last year's time of 31:21.1. The senior from Manchester, England, flew over the final 0.4K, jumping up nine spots.Â
Parkinson finishes his storied LR cross country career with three wins, seven top-five finishes, 10 top-10 finishes, and two NCAA DII Championship appearances.
Taking home the individual title was West Texas A&M's William Amponsah with a time of 28:20.3. Winning the team title was the Colorado School of Mines, who upset top seeded Wingate by five points.
