Jacob Parkinson owns the Queen City Invite. His time of 24:39.25 gave him the individual title by two seconds, making it the second time he has won the event in his career. Competing against multiple South Atlantic Conference opponents, the Bears had a strong showing, with the men finishing in fifth and the women sixth.
On the men's side, Lenoir-Rhyne finished just behind DI Queens (NC) with 129 points. Senior
Jacob Parkinson's time of 24:39.25 set a new best at the event, as he won with a 25:26 in 2022. Joining Parkinson in the top-five was senior
Lewis Budgen, who finished fourth with a time of 24:58.79. Lewis previously placed third overall in this race back in 2022 with a time of 25:40.
Heri Kommorrowski (27:13.49),
Leon Fisher (27:32.49),
Harrison Hickman (28:17.58),
Isaac Riggs (28:29.84), and Till Binsteiner (28:34.33) rounded out the scoring for the Bears.
On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne finished sixth as a team with 171 points.
Elizabeth Kessler finished in 24th, coming through in18:58.41, the second fastest time of her LR career.
Maria Carmona finished 34th with a time of 19:43.31, while
Daniela Flores-Gutierrez joined her in the top half, finishing with a time of 20:20.23.
Olivia Overholt (20:42.07),
Elisabeth Ronnstad (21:00.30),
Mathilde Etienne (22:30.91), and
Caitlyn Christie (23:25.72) rounded out the scoring for the Bears.
Lenoir-Rhyne will be back in action next Saturday as they travel to Spartanburg, SC, to compete in the Converse Kick Off.
