SALEM, VA / CHAPEL HILL, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Track & Field team opened up the 2025 calendar year at the Finn Pincus Invitational and the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge.
The Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge was highlighted by a fourth place finish in the 1000 meters from
Harrison Hickman and a seventh place finish in the mile from
Jacob Parkinson. Both individuals were the first non-DI finishers across the line.
Leading the way at the Finn Pincus Invitational was
Mike Karicher, who took first place in the pole vault with a school record mark of 4.76m (15-7.25). Also taking first in his event was
Marcus Crumpler, who was tops in the 200m with a time of 22.58.
Nick Henriques showcased his prowess in the triple jump, winning the event with a leap of 14.28m (46-10.25). Freshman
Havyn Spain has hit the ground running to start his collegiate career, as he took second in both the 200m (22.58) and the 400m (50.14). Taking second in the weight throw was freshman
Harrison Waddell, who set a new personal best with a toss of 16.16m (53-0.25).
