ROCK HILL, SC -
Sally Friesen has been named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week, thanks to her standout performances against Limestone and Emory & Henry.
Friesen, who has started all 11 games for the Bears this season, made 13 saves in a huge 16-12 win over #25 Limestone on Wednesday. This marked Lenoir-Rhyne's first win over a ranked team since beating #17 Queens on March 21, 2018. In addition to her performance against Limestone, Friesen made three saves and allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of action against Emory & Henry.
Friesen currently ranks third in the conference in save percentage, fifth in total saves and fifth in goals-against average. The Bears currently have a record of 6-5 and are riding a 5-game winning streak, their longest since 2019.
