HARTWELL, GA - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf team posted their best finish of the year on Tuesday, finishing 3rd out of 12 teams at the Emmanuel Spring Invite. After posting a round one score of 317 (+29), the Bears shot a 309 (+21) in round two to jump two spots into the third place position. They finished with a two-round total of 626 (+50), just six strokes behind the host Emmanuel and seven ahead of NAIA #13 William Carey.
Continuing to play some of the best golf in her career was
Eve Neild, who's rounds of 76 and 73 gave her a two-round score of 149 (+5), tying her for second in the tournament. This marks the highest finish of her career and her third consecutive top-ten finish. Joining Neild in the top-20 was
Jaya Wilkinson, who took 16th with a final tally of 157 (+13). Rounding out the top-three for the Bears was
Marta Escudero Cano, who tied for 21st with a 158 (+14).
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
The Bears will have another quick turnaround as they travel to Monroe, North Carolina, next Monday and Tuesday to take part in the Jerry Surratt Memorial, hosted by Wingate.
