HICKORY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Track & Field teams took part in the LR Bears open on Saturday, their final meet before conference on Wednesday and Thursday.
The men saw five first place finishers. In the running events,
Jacob Parkinson won the 1500 meters with a time of 3:56.55, while
Antonyio Davis set a new personal best of 14.85 when he crossed the line first in the 110m hurdles.
Steven Phan and
Mike Karicher tied for the top honors in the pole vault, while
Harrison Waddell continued his strong season with a first place throw of 49.87m in the hammer throw.
The women saw
Emily McDonnell (800) and
Daniela Flores-Gutierrez (1500) finish in the top-three in their respective running events, while
Harper Ramsdale (Pole Vault) and
Savannah Nippa (Hammer) took third in theirs.
The Bears will host the SAC Championships for the second straight year this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday in Hickory. More information will be posted in the coming days.
