HICKORY, NC - Sophomores
Madison Primm and
Lani Warren have each been named All-Americans by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Primm was a second-team honoree while Warren was named to the second-team.
They become the 10th and 11th Bears to be named to an All-American team. This is just the third time in program history (2010 and 2017) that two Bears were named to a single All-Amercan team. The Bears have now had at least one individual name to an All-American team each of the last five years.
Madison Primm led the Bears in batting average (.436), hits (79), home runs (19), total bases (147), RBI's (58), and slugging percentage (.812). Her home runs were tied for fourth in DII, her total bases were 11th and slugging percentage 15th. In just two seasons as a Bear she already has 34 home runs, putting her sixth all-time in Bears history.
Lani Warren was second on the team with a .421 batting average and 14 home runs. The catcher from Forest City, N.C. was also named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team, All-SAC First Team, and the SAC All-Tournament team. She started and played in all 57 games this season, totaling 77 hits, 58 RBI's, and 44 runs scored.
