ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team opened their Spring season competing in a loaded field at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate. 11 of the 18 teams competing were ranked top-50 in the country. Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked 49th, tied for ninth in the field.
Leading the way for the Bears was
Matthew McDougall who finished tied for 11th with rounds of 72-72-77 (221). Joining him in the top-20 was senior
Sean Finan. The Winston-Salem native improved each round to tie for 19th with a 224 (+8).
Slade Aliff continued the trend of improving each round and took 53rd with a 231 (+15). Rounding out the five for the Bears was
Jake Moore (236) and
Stanislaus Koch (238).
As a team the Bears finished fifth in the field with 37 birdies, led by 11 from McDougall. Finan tied for third in par-5 scoring with an average of 4.58 (-5). That helped the Bears tie for fifth as a team on par-5s with a 4.98 (-1) average.
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Men's Golf will be back in action in two weeks when they head to Pawleys Island, South Carolina, to take part in the Bulldog Spring Classic.
