PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. -
Sean Finan came to play this week, taking home medalist honors at the Spring Bulldog Clash. He went 70-70-69 to finish with a three-round total of 209 (-1). Finan was the only golfer in the field to finish under par.
As a team the Bears took second, going 288-290-289 to finish with a 867 (+27). USC Aiken won the team title with an 857 (+17), shooting a 277 in the final round to clinch the title.
Finan never shot above par and was tied for tops in par-4 scoring (3.87, -4) and par-5 scoring (4.67, -3).
Matthew McDougall joined Finan in the top ten, coming through with a 213 (+3). He was tied for fifth in par-4 scoring at a 4.03 (+1).
Slade Aliff came through with an even par 70 in his final round to tie for 28th with a 221 (+11).
As a team the Bears were fourth with 170 pars and fifth with 31 birdies.
Stanislaus Koch scored the only eagle of the tournament for the Bears, a 3 on the par-5 10th in round three.
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Men's golf will have a few weeks off before competing in the Ralph Hargett Intercollegiate on March 16-17. The tournament will take place in Monroe, N.C., at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
