HICKORY, N.C. - The trio of
Matt Procopio,
Kellen Gradisar, and
Mackenzie Wainwright have been named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region team. Procopio was a first team honoree while Gradisar and Wainwright were each named to the second team.
Matt Procopio finished the season with a .436 batting average, which is fifth in program history. He also led the Bears with 60 RBIs and tied for the team lead with 78 hits.
Mackenzie Wainwright, last year's Region Player of the Year, batted .406 this year with 78 hits, 59 RBIs, 39 walks, 18 doubles, and 14 home runs. His .750 slugging percentage is fifth all-time in LR history.
Kellen Gradisar is making his first appearance on an All-Region team. The junior hurler led the Bears with a 2.99 ERA and finished the year with an 8-3 record. In his final two starts he didn't allow a run. His six complete games ranks second in DII.
