Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Suffers A 19-9 Loss To Pfeiffer In Its First-Ever Home Match

Freshman Tyler Kotch scored twice for Lenoir-Rhyne despite a 19-9 loss to Pfeiffer Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium in the program's first-ever match at home.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Lacrosse Team (0-2) fell to Pfeiffer University (1-0), 19-9, Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium in the school's first-ever intercollegiate match at home.

Pfeiffer was led by Tucker Hammock (Marietta, Ga.) with four goals while James Shepherd (St. John, New Brunswick) and Kory Lutes (Orlando, Fla.) tallied three goals each.?

Freshman Fred Waddle (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored three times to lead the Bears while freshmen?Tyler Kotch (Holly Springs, N.C.) scored twice and Robert Darrow (Fort Myers, Fla.) added a goal and three assists despite the loss for L-R.

Lenoir-Rhyne did manage to hold a 37-36 edge in shots taken and a 13-11 advantage in ground balls.

L-R junior Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) notched three saves while Hayden Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) stopped 12 shots for Pfeiffer.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Mars Hill, N.C., to take on Mars Hill next Saturday at 2 p.m.? Pfeiffer, meanwhile, plays Catawba in Salisbury, N.C., on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
