Freshman Robert Darrow led the Bears with three goals in Lenoir-Rhyne's 25-6 loss to ninth-ranked Mars Hill Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.

Mars Hill, N.C. ? The Mars Hill College Men?s Lacrosse Team (3-0, 1-0) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (0-3, 0-1), 25-6, Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.? The Lions are currently ranked No. 9 in the latest USILA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.

Mars Hill?s Tyler Farmer (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA) led all scorers with six goals while Kile Garrett (Nashville, Tenn.) scored four times as the Lions prevailed in the Deep South Conference opener for both squads.

Lenoir-Rhyne, still searching for its first victory in its inaugural season, was led by freshman Robert Darrow?s (Fort Myers, Fla.) three goals.? Freshman Anthony Mangili (Durham, N.C.) added two goals for the Bears in the loss.

Mars Hill was in control throughout as it jumped out to an 8-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and held a 14-2 advantage at halftime en route to the win.?

The Lions also held a 56-28 margin in shots taken and a?38-22 advantage in ground balls in remaining unbeaten on the year.

The Lions? Dylan Price (York, Pa.) won in goal after giving up just two goals to go along with eight saves while Bear junior goalkeeper Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) suffered the defeat despite stopping 12 shots.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Lees-McRae on Wednesday at 7 p.m., at Moretz Stadium.? Mars Hill, meanwhile, hosts Mercyhurst (Pa.) next Friday at 3 p.m.
