Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Lacrosse Team (2-4) defeated Dominican (Calif.) University (1-2), 6-3, Tuesday evening at Moretz Stadium for its second win in school history.
L-R freshmen Luke Nealon (Naples, Fla.) and Fred Waddle (Colorado Springs, Colo.)?tallied a goal and an assist while freshman?Tyler Kotch (Butler,?Pa.)?added two assists as six different players scored for the Bears en route to the win.
Dominican's Dalton Copeland (Novato, Calif.) scored a goal and notched an assist in the losing effort for the Penguins.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman goalkeeper Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) came up big for the Bears as he allowed just three goals to go along with 17 saves in picking up the victory.
Dominican's Sean Donohue (Santa Monica, Calif.) suffered the setback in goal despite saving 14 shots.
The Penguins held a 35-25 advantage in shots taken but the Bears had an edge in groundballs, 42-41.
