Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Wins Easily Over Coker, 19-7, In Its Regular Season Finale

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Robert Darrow was one of four players to score three goals on the day for the Bears in a season-ending 19-7 victory over Coker Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (5-10) ended the 2012 campaign on a high note with a 19-7 victory over Coker (2-13) Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.? The Bears also?concluded the season on a three-match winning streak.

Lenoir-Rhyne showed good?offensive balance with four players scoring three goals each to lead the Bears to the victory.

Freshmen Ned Kaish (Atlanta, Ga.) and Jon Hanlon (Haymarket, Va.) and sophomores Tyler Kotch (Butler, Pa.) and Robert Darrow (Fort Myers, Fla.) all scored three times for Lenoir-Rhyne in the convincing win.

Kaish added two assists and finished the year with a team-leading 33 goals while freshman Miles Britton (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) notched a match-high three assists.

Britton ended the season as the team-leader in assists (31) and points scored with 47 as well.

Coker lost despite a pair of goals from both Keith LaClair (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Steve Marciano (Shirley, N.Y.).? The Cobras, losers of nine straight, are competing in their first season in men's lacrosse.

The Bears took complete control from the start as they scored the match's first nine goals and held a 48-21 advantage in shots taken and a 55-26 edge in ground balls.

In goal, L-R senior Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) registered the win after tallying seven saves while Christian Stevens (Mooresville, N.C.) suffered the loss for Coker.? Stevens stopped seven shots as well.

Coker hosts Queens in a Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday evening in its regular season finale beginning at 6:00 p.m.
