Hickory, N.C.– Lenoir-Rhyne University's
Jacob Queen has been selected as the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, as announced by league officials earlier today.
Queen, a junior from Hickory, N.C., won two events and helped lead the Bears to a 194–40 win over Saint Andrews this past Saturday. Queen took first in both the 100-yard (52.55) and 200-yard (1:53.02) backstrokes. Queen was also a member of each of the winning relays for the Bears – 400-yard freestyle relay (3:16.06) and 400-yard medley relay (3:34.05).
Queen currently holds six individual records: 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes, and the 200-yard individual medley. He was also a member of the record breaking 200-yard, 400-yard, and 800-yard freestyle relays and the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays.
