Box Score Belmont, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team used a quality start from
Brett Fulk, shutdown bullpen performances and consistent offensive pressure to defeat Belmont Abbey 7-3 at Abbey Field on Tuesday night in nonconference action.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Lenoir-Rhyne sent Fulk to the mound to start the game, and the East Bend, N.C. native earned the win, working 5.0 innings and giving up three runs on five hits while striking out six Crusaders batters.
Michael Allen and
Hunter Martin combined to work the final four innings of work without giving up a run on just one hit between them.
• The Bears were led at the plate by
Corbin Watson who was officially 2-for-3 on the night with one run scored. Freshman
Austin Reed was the second best hitter on the night going 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.
• Belmont Abbey scored three runs on just six hits, and two of them came from third baseman Ben Gobbel. He also had one run batted in.

Matthew Freeman and
Brock Johnson had four combined RBIs for the Bears. They accounted for four of the five in that category the winning team recorded.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Tonight was Reed's first start of the season.
• This win was significant for the Bears as Belmont Abbey was a 40-win NCAA Tournament team in 2018.
• Lenoir-Rhyne has improved their road record to 3-5 on the year and 6-6 in nonconference play.
• Martin struck out five of the six outs he recorded in 2.0 innings of work.
