Boernigen Locks Down Spot at Nationals at Royal Open

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Four Lenoir-Rhyne swimmers attended the Royal open on Friday for a last chance to qualify and improve on qualification positions for the NCAA Championship in March.

Lisa Boernigen locked down her spot for the NCAA meet with a Team Record in the 200IM ranking her 12th.

Lauren Rutherford improve her position to 29th with a team record in the 50free.  She too is hoping to be invited to the Championship.

Spencer improved his position in the 50 free with a team record.  He also set a new team record in the 100 fly.

Jacob Queen had a personal best time in the 200 breast.  He is currently ranked 24th in the 100 breast and awaiting the chance to swim at NCAAs.

Rutherford will learn her fate and see if she will join Micah McRea and Boernigen at Nationals.
