Box Score 2 Wise VA.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team completed their four-game sweep of UVA-Wise with a 15-2 and 17-7 win on Sunday.
Nick Clarno finished the day 5-9 with 2 HR's and 9 RBIs including his first career grand slam.
Drue Galassi and
Matt Mackey each homered twice on the afternoon.

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- After 38 runs on Saturday, the Bears did not waste any time getting started on Sunday. LR put a four-spot in the first. EJ Ranel got the Bears started with a rbi double then Connor Smith singled him home before Nick Clarno hit his sixth homerun of the season for the early 4-0 lead.
- After four in the first, the Bears added five in the second. Wade Cuda and Smith both homered and Ranel added another double.
- Mackey and ue Galassi each went yard in the 4th, then Mackey hit his second of the game in the 5th.
- 3-4-5 hitters Ranel, Smith and Clarno went 6-9 with 10 RBIs in game one
- Andrew Patrick went the distance for his third complete game of the season. Patrick moved to 3-1 on the year.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- Bryce Stober got the Bears on the board with an rbi single in the second. The Cavaliers tied it up with an unearned run in the bottom of the half.
- The game stayed tied at 1 until the 5th. The teams combined for five runs in the inning. First, the Bears got two runs off a Ranel SAC fly and a Smith RBI ground out before UVA-Wise got three runs off Bears starter and SAC ERA leader Joshua Lanham to take a 4-3 lead.
- The lead did not last long as the Bears responded in the Top of the 6th with four runs. Cuda and Smith had RBI doubles and Galassi hit his 9th homerun of the season, a two-run blast.
- After the Bears took a 7-4 lead, The Bears scored ten runs in the final three innings topped off with Nick Clarno's grand slam in the 9th. It was the Bears 20th homerun of the weekend.
- Lanham got the win (3-0) throwing five innings allowing three earned runs and striking out seven.
- Bears got scoreless innings out of the bullpen by Ian Foggo, Hayden Gresham, Ben Friebel, Michael Allen.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- LR entered Sunday's action in second in DII with 29 home runs, one behind North Greenville for the NCAA lead. With North Greenville idle on Sunday, LR with their eight home runs will move into first place
- With Lanham's performance today, he still leads the SAC in ERA (1.88) and strikeouts (37) and is second with three wins.
- Bears finished the weekend with 70 runs and 72 hits and 20 long balls.
- LR hit .483 as a team this weekend to move their season average to .326
- Bears did commit nine errors on the weekend and now have committed 34 errors on the year, while their opponents have only committed 15.
UP NEXT: LR will return home for a mid-week game on Tuesday against Coker. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
