INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – For the second time in program history, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team earned the No. 1 seed in the South Region of the 2021 NCAA Division II National Tournament. On April 16, Lenoir-Rhyne was selected as the host of the South Regional so all four games of the regional, leading up to the National Championship game, will be played at Moretz Stadium.
The Bears, who rank No. 2 in the nation, will face the winner of No. 4 seed Mount Olive and No. 5 seed Tampa on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Trojans and Spartans square off in the First Round on Friday at 4 p.m.
The other South Region contest features SAC rival Wingate as the No. 2 seed taking on No. 3 seeded Indianapolis on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Bears are making their third NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2018 where they advanced to the National Semifinal. The Bears earned their only NCAA Tournament win that season, defeating Colorado Mesa 14-12 before falling to Saint Leo 12-11 with a spot in the National Championship game on the line.
The Bears won their fifth SAC Regular Season crown and second SAC Tournament title this season.
The National Championship game will be hosted at the Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT on Sunday, May 30 at 1 p.m.
