KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - In their first competition of the year, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf team finished tied for 9th at the Kiawah Island Invitational at Osprey Point Golf Club. The Bears shot 863 as a team over three rounds, which was one under par.
In the first two rounds that were both played on Monday, The Bears shot a combined 570, which was 12 shots behind leader Erskine in the 15-team field. In the final round on Tuesday, the Bears shot 293 as a team to move up one spot in the standings between rounds two and three.
The Bears were led by
Jack Alward, who shot 213 (-3) to tie for 23rd.
Liam Waldron and
Tyler Hashmi were three shots behind at 216 (even) to tie for 35th.
Holt Allison finished tied for 44th, shooting 218 (+2), and
Dawson Walker rounded out the Bear effort with a 227 (+11).
The Bears' next competition is September 20 and 21 at the Jay Jennison Cup at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
