MONROE, N.C. - The #46 ranked Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team took seventh at the Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate, shooting rounds of 285-304-286 to finish with a three-round total of 875 (+11).
#5 Wingate won their home competition with an 828 (-26). Emmanuel's Gabriel Hull took home medalist honors with a 205 (-11).
Matthew McDougall, ranked #64 in Division II, was the top finisher for the Bears. He was the lone Bear to finish under par for the tournament, going 68-76-71 to tie for 13th with a 215 (-1).
Archie Mathers (218, +2) and
Sean Finan (220, +4) joined McDougall in the top-30.
As a team the Bears were third in par-4 scoring, finishing with an average of 4.09 (+13). The team was sixth with 45 birdies.
Archie Mathers was tied for first in par-4 scoring with an average of 3.90 (-3) for the tournament.
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Lenoir-Rhyne will be right back at it again next Monday and Tuesday when they travel to Lenoir City, Tennessee, for the Tennessee River Rumble, hosted by Lincoln Memorial. The tournament will take place at the WindRiver Golf Club.
