Hickory, N.C. - Micah McRea won three events, and
Renato Herran won a pair of races as the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Swimming Team split a home tri-meet on Saturday inside Shuford Pool.Â
The Bears defeated Catawba 132-118 but dropped a close one to Lees-McRae 132-123 to earn a split on the afternoon.Â
McRea started his afternoon with wins in both breaststroke races. In the 100-yard breaststroke, McRea finished with a time of 57.07 seconds, then had a time of 2:07.38 in the 200-yard breaststroke. McRea finished his hat trick with a victory in the 400 IM.Â
Herran got his wins in the freestyle events. Herran first won the 200 Free with a time of 1:45.62, then took home the gold in the 100 Free with a time of 48.05.Â
Levi McRea swam 10:15 to win the 1000 Free to open up individual events after the Bears tallied a 400 Medlay Relay win. The relay team consisted of
Micah McRea,
Christopher Glebus,
Nathan McCormick and Herran.Â
The Bears will head to Charlotte for the Fall Frenzy, hosted by Queens University starting on November 18th.Â
