CHUCKEY, Tenn. - After surging on day two of the SAC Championship and pulling into a fourth-place tie, the Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team dropped to eighth place after the final round and shot a 298 and finished with a team score of 870 for the tournament.
Queens ran away with the team title, winning the tournament by 12 shots over Newberry.
Cole Sutherland paced the Bears with a round-three 70 and finished -1 for the tournament. Matt Raybould was outstanding in the second round with a 68 but struggled in the final round, shooting a 77 to finish even for the tournament and in a 20th place tie, two spots behind Sutherland.
Tyler Hashmi shot a 75 for the day and a 220 for the tournament and was followed by
Dawson Walker's 222.
Liam Waldron was one shot behind Walker for the tournament and finished with a 223.
Sutherland led LR with four birdies in round three, on holes six, 12, 15 and 16. Raybould fired three consecutive birdies on holes 4-6 and Hashmi, Walker and Waldron each had three birdies on the day.
