CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams made their return to the pool for the first time in three weeks for the annual Fall Frenzy.
For team results, the men finished in seventh place with a score of 437 while the women came in 10th place with a score of 136.
Over the course of the weekend, Christopher Glebus was the standout swimmer with solid finishes in the individual and relay events.
The sophomore's best result came in 200-yard freestyle where he recorded the 17th-fastest time with a 1:41.19 posting. That time is good enough for Glebus to get a NCAA B-Cut.
The Greensboro, N.C. native also notched the best LR time in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:38.17, to finish 11th overall in the race. Brooks Higginbotham and Levi McRea also snuck into the Top 25 with times of 4:41.29 and 4:47.38 to finish 19th and 23rd, respectively.
Glebus was also a part of two LR relays that posted Top 10 results. In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the combined team of Glebus, Higginbotham, Renato Herran, and Christopher Forsey marked a time of 7:01.91 to finish ninth in the event.
For the 400-yard freestyle relay, the efforts of Glebus, Herran, Forsey, and Matthew Stein secured a 10th-place finish with a time of 3:08.38.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, Higginbotham made a splash on the final of day of competition with a sixth-place result of 16:15.29. With that placement, the freshman was the top male finisher in the meet for LR.
For the individual backstroke events, Forsey finished 13th in the 100-yard race with a time of 51.57 while Stein finished 16th in the 200-yard race with a time of 1:59.44.
The LR Women's Swimming Team had two good finishes in the 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relays.
First, in the 800-yard race, the group of Ella Penny, Anna Buchert, Olivia DeRosier, and Trinity Price finished with a time of 7:56.28, good enough for 17th place overall.
Then, in the 400-yard race, Penny, Buchert, Ann-Cathrine Beissel, and Devin Poteat recorded the 18th-best time of 3:34.43.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams will return to the pool following Finals Week for a tri-meet against Milligan and UNC Pembroke. The events are scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Shuford Pool.
