Day One Results
Charlotte, N.C.-- On day one of the inaugural SAC Championship, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's and Men's Swimming Teams are both in fourth place in the six-team event. The women scored 202 total points while the men scored 237 points.
On the women's side, the team of
Anna Gagnon,
Devin Poteat,
Kayana Taylor and
Katherine Hudson finished in fourth place with a time 1:51.86 in the 200 Medley relay.
Camille Brown finished 13th in the 1000 Free with a time of 11:06.05 while
Isabelle Hurd finished in 19th.
Lisa Boernigen had the highlight for the women on day one as she finished in second place in the 200 IM as the senior slapped the wall in 2:03.12, which earned Boernigen a NCAA "B" cut time. The time was also good enough to put herself in the LR record books with the fastest time in the event in program history.
Katherine Hudson finished second in the C final in the 50 Free. Hudson finished with a time of 25.41.
On the men's side, The Bears finished third in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:36.77.
Nathan McCormick,
Davis Hull,
Matthew Stein, and
Christopher Forsey got the bronze to start the Bears championship.
Levi McRea finished 7th in the 1000 Free as the freshman touched the wall with a time of 9:35.56.
Noah Martin came in 16th place in the same event, one minute later with a time of 10:35.20.
Micah McRea had the men's best finish of the day as the senior had a second place finished and NCAA "B" cut time in the 200 IM. McRea had a time of 1:47.37 during his second place finish. McRea also broke the program record in the event.
Renato Herran finished fourth in the B final of the 50 Free with a time of 20.91 while
Christopher Glebus and
Cooper Sledge finished third and fourth in the C final.
Day two starts with prelims at 10:00 AM and finals at 5:00 PM from Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
