Toron Eccleston was named the offensive player of the week while teammate
Victor Powell was named the defensive player of the week. This was the first time this year that the No.6 Bears earned individual weekly awards.
Eccleston, a senior attacker from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, went off against No. 15 Florida Tech with a season-high six goals and eight points. He had a hat trick at the half to lead the Bears to their fourth win over a ranked opponent. Eccleston added a pair of caused turnovers and scored three goals on the man advantage, recording the most in program history.
Powell, a junior defender from Chesapeake Beach, Md., dominated the defensive end against No. 15 Florida Tech to help the Bears move to 6-1 on the year with four wins over ranked opponents. Powell had four caused turnovers and grabbed three ground balls.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday when they travel to No. 17 Newberry.
