HICKORY, N.C. -- On top of winning a National Championship, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team earned the highest GPA in all of NCAA Division II as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Earning the highest GPAs for their respective divisions were Harvard (Division 1), Lenoir-Rhyne (Division 2), and Williams (Division 3).
Teams with a GPA of 3.0 or higher were honored with the Bears topping the DII list. Additionally,
Myles Moffat and
Toron Eccleston gave the men's lacrosse team a pair of Academic All-Americans for the third straight season with Moffat earning his second straight First Team Academic All-American honor. Moffat would also be named the SAC President's Award winner for the second straight year, the highest individual honor given to a student-athlete by the South Atlantic Conference.
Liam Farrell was also announced as the SAC Elite 23 award winner for the highest GPA in the league in men's lacrosse.
The Bears finished the spring with a team GPA of 3.4910 and defeated Mercyhurst 20-5 in the National Championship game on May 28 in Philadelphia.Â
