AUGUSTA, Ga.-
Sean Finan shot a 69 in the third round to finish one shot off the lead as the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team opened their 2023-24 season with an eighth place finish at the Bearcat Fall Invitational.
The Bears had the best finish among SAC teams as LR finished right ahead of Lincoln Memorial and Wingate. North Georgia took home the team title as the Bears finished 24 shots off the lead.
After Finan's runner-up finish,
Holt Allison was second for the Bears in 42nd place as the junior shot a 74 on the final day.
After shooting back to back 75s on Monday,
Sam Mace shot a 70 to move up to 49th place.
Carson Witherspoon finished 68th as the senior could not capitalize on his score of a 71 in the second round as he finished the event with a third round score of a 79.
Jake Moore, who shot a 73 and 80 in his first two rounds on Monday, ended up with a 75 on Tuesday to finish in 82nd place.
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23 for the Jay Jennison Cup in St. Augustine, Fla.
