KINGSPORT, TN - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swim Team officially opened their season on Saturday, competing in the King Invitational, hosted by King University. This was the first meet under new head coach Sean Weddell.
On the men's side, the Bears finished in fifth, totaling 298 points. The women came in a tie for sixth with Mars Hill, coming through with 235 points.
Freshman
Greg Kisshauer impressed in his first collegiate meet, notching three top-five finishes. He placed third in the 400 yard IM, third in the 200 yard butterfly, and fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke. He was also a part of the men's 200 yard medley relay that finished fifth.
Emma Sheets and
Ella Penny also notched top-five finishes, with Sheets taking fifth in the 400 yard IM and Penny fifth in the 200 yard freestyle. Both were a part of the 200 yard medley relay that took fifth.

The Bears will be at home for the first time this season next Saturday when they host Mars Hill at the Shuford Pool. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
