Final Results
Pawley's Island, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf team finished in 11th place at the Spring Bulldog Classic hosted by Barton College. The host Barton won the 22-team field with a two shot victory over Newberry College.
The Bears improved 24 shots from round two as the Bears struggled in the middle round with a tournament low 301 but the Bears were one of six teams to shot under par on the final day.
Matthew McDougall and
Sean Finan both finished in a tie for 25th place with a three over par. McDougall shot a personal best 68 on Tuesday. Finan shot 70's on round one and round three while had a three over 73 in the second round.
Holt Allison was four shots behind teammates McDougall and Finan with a 217 in the three rounds but also fired a 68 on Tuesday to tie McDougall.
Jake Moore finished with a +19 while Mads Boas was one shot behind Moore for the week.
McDougall had the sixth lowest score on Par 3's for the tournament as McDougall also had 12 birdies, which was good for sixth most. Finan and Allison each had nine birdies for the tournament.
The Bears will stay in the state of South Carolina and head to Greenwood, S.C. for the Lander Bearcat Classic on Sunday.
