Final Results
Greenwood, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf team moved up to 7th place to finish the Bearcat Classic. The Bears were in 12th place after round one in the 16-team field but LR improved in the last two rounds to finish in 7th place.
Host Lander won the team title as the Bears were 23 shots back of the Bearcats. Drew Coble of Grand Valley State won the individual title with a -13 for the week.
Holt Allison and
Jake Moore both finished in a tie for 22nd place as the duo both shot under 70 in round two including Moore having his career round of 67.
Matthew McDougall had a rough round 1 with a 76 but fired back to back 70's to finish in 45th place. Teammate Made Boas also finished in 45th place as Boas also finished strong after a tough opening round. Boas shot a 71 and 70 in the final two rounds.
Sean Finan rounded out the Bears lineup with a 52nd place finish as he finished two shots behind Boas and McDougall.
Allison and Moore had 13 birdies on the week as Allison had the seven best score on Par 4's in the event. LR was fifth best as team on the Pa 4's at two under.
Bears will head to Monroe, N.C. next week for the Ralph Hargett Memorial, hosted by Wingate.
