GREENVILLE, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf team took fifth at the SAC Championships this past week at the Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, South Carolina.
The Bears shot round of 296-298-305 to finish with a 54-hole total of 899 (+35). Winning the event was #4 Lincoln Memorial with a final score of 274 (-20).
Leading the way for the Bears was
Mads Emil Boas, who shot rounds of 75-75-73 to finish with a 223 (+7), good for a tie for 15th. His eagle on the final hole of the tournament helped the Bears jump Catawba in the standings. Just three spots behind Boas was
Holt Allison, who tied for 18th with a 225 (+9). Tying for 33rd was
Slade Aliff and
Sean Finan, who each finished at 229 (+13). Aliff tied for ninth in the tournament with 10 birdies.
Matthew McDougall closed things out with a 232 (+16).
As a team Lenoir-Rhyne ranked third in par-4 scoring (4.26, +39) and fourth in total pars (155).
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
The Bears, who are ranked #8 in the region, will now wait to hear the NCAA Regional announcement in the coming weeks. The Bears are looking for their second straight NCAA Regional appearance.
